Cambridge Men Arrested On Illegal Firearm Charges

CAMBRIDGE, MA – Earlier this week, police arrested two men on charges related to illegal firearms.

Patrick Mc Gowan, 28, from Cambridge, and Christian Fauntleroy, 29, who lives in Dorchester, are charged with unlawful possession of guns and ammo. Officers stopped the car Fauntleroy was driving near Central Square on Thursday, Feb. 5. Police noticed several safety issues with the vehicle and decided to tow it. While doing the required inventory before towing, they found two handguns and several rounds of ammunition in a spot inside the car that both men could reach. Neither Mc Gowan nor Fauntleroy has a License to Carry or a Firearm Identification Card, so having these weapons is illegal. Police later found out one gun had been reported stolen from another state and the other didn’t have any serial number. One handgun was white; the other was darker in color. Both men were arraigned at Cambridge District Court and their cases will be handled by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

The charges they’re facing carry possible prison time up to five years with at least 18 months minimum.
