October 6th, 1941 – December 24th, 2025
With heavy hearts, the family of Clarice May Wideman (née Robbins) shares the news of her sudden passing on December 24th, 2025.
Clarice was born in Port Arthur and grew up in Blake Township. She met Marvin at a dance-the man she would marry on November 5th, 1960-and they recently marked their 65th wedding anniversary. They started out in the “Little House” on Murphy Avenue before settling in Rosslyn, where they lived for over six decades and raised their four children: Shawn, Dale, Scott, and Crystal.
She dedicated herself to being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Clarice loved tending a big vegetable garden and spent many hours canning veggies, freezing fruits, making jams as well as baking and cooking. She also kept roosters that sometimes chased her around while she fed them-much to everyone’s laughter.
Her world mostly centered around her family. Summers were often spent at camp on Cloud Lake where she enjoyed watching her kids play and hanging out with her dad who stayed nearby at another camp. She also liked grabbing ice cream sundaes with Marvin or going on country drives. Clarice frequently had friends drop by or met them for coffee.
Being a grandma and great-grandma brought her lots of joy. She happily baked chocolate chip cookies to keep up with all their requests and spent time teaching them math problems, card games, knitting tricks and baking tips. Mostly though she just loved spending time together-even if it meant making them watch Y& R with her! She always put others first without ever complaining or expecting anything back. Giving hugs was kind of her thing-she made sure no one left without one because that’s how she showed love to everyone she knew.
Clarice leaves behind her husband Marvin; children Shawn (Cheryl), Dale (Mary), Scott (Tracey), and Crystal (Leonard); ten grandchildren Shannon, Amanda (Jeff), Shawn Jr., (Alexa), Ryan, Justin (Carina), Robyn (Ryan), Troy (Jasmine), Shelby (Jerry), Devon (Taylor), Kerri (Lyndon); plus eleven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by parents Delbert and Julia Robbins; brother James Robbins; sister Alma Kempe along with brother-in-law Bill Kempe; sister-in-law Beatrice Wideman; nephews Dean Wideman and Bernie Goliboski Jr.; as well as mother- and father-in-law Hilda and Arthur Wideman.
Survivors include brothers Alan Robbins and Lloyd Robbins; sisters Gale Bloye and Irene (Bernie) Goliboski; brother-in-law Raynold Wideman; plus many nieces, nephews & other relatives.
A celebration of life will take place at the Nor Wester Hotel and Conference Centre on Saturday January 17th, 2026 from 1:00 p. m. until 4:00 p. m.
