A 23-year-old man from Kitchener is now facing charges following a crash near a Mobile R. I. D. E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) checkpoint in Cambridge.
On Dec. 19, local police were running the program around King Street and Fountain Street when a driver didn’t stop and tried to speed off.
The vehicle ended up hitting a house, causing what officers describe as major damage. Thankfully, nobody was hurt.
The man was taken into custody and charged with multiple violations under the Highway Traffic Act.
The case is still open, and police are asking anyone with info or dashcam videos to get in touch.
